Event: Mambo de Chocobo Mingle Post

It starts on what should have been another ordinary day.

“Wark?”

You may be at the hotel, shopping in a store, eating out at a restaurant, or anywhere else in Edge. A large bird is looking at you. Or walking around the building. Or trying to eat some food anywhere it sees some.

There are more such birds. They come in many different colors. And they are everywhere, getting into everything.

Soon ads go up around town about the wayward chocobos. They escaped from some trucks and the truckers will pay to get them back. Time to load up on greens, bring a friend or two, and try to bring them in!

"Uh huh. But what are they?"

"They're just birds. People ride them," Sephiroth said. "They eat greens." He held up some he had been carrying.

"Wait, so they're evil 'speriment birds that fly you around and eat all your yucky vegetables?"

Sephiroth quirked an eyebrow. "They're not evil or experiments, but otherwise, yes, I suppose you could say that."

"Cool! I want one!" An it can eat all her yucky vegetables. "All my friends would have to like me if I had a pet that I could fly on the back of!"

Sephiroth was about to caution that chocobos aren't always easy to befriend and sometimes people get thrown repeatedly, and that they don't fly, but something in that comment sounded very wrong and very heartbreaking and he stopped to really take it in.

"... Don't your friends back home like you?"

"They do, they just don't know it yet. Nani say to have patience with them, but that's hard sometimes. But this will make things go much faster! Even Myrtle will have to be impressed if I have a pet that will eat all my vegetables and fly us around the island! Stitch is amazing, but Myrtle doesn't like him very much," sadder there. Then she perked up. "But once she likes one of my pets, she's sure to love Stitch too! After all Stitch and her dog are cousins!"

Sephiroth frowned. It definitely sounded like a lot of sadness in those comments.

He wasn't sure he could blame Myrtle for not liking Stitch if he was prone to biting.

"You wouldn't actually be able to fly," he said. "Chocobos can't fly. But they run quite fast."

"Oh... Well I can't fly either... and I'm good to have around..." Right?

He smiled a bit. "Yes." While he didn't know her well yet, he liked her.

"Then... it is okay! And we have spaceships for flying anyway. And the car. When I can find the keys."

"You drive the car?"

"Uh huh." When Nani doesn't stop her.

"... How do you reach the pedals?"

"Uncle Jumba fixed it so I can reach when he added the rocket boosters"

"... He approves of you driving the car?"

This kept getting worse all the time.

"What about your sister? Does she approve?"

"Um.... not really..... But sometimes we out think her into agreeing."

He was really starting to feel sorry for this Nani. "That must be frustrating for her."

"Usually she just screams then goes to work." She shrugged, unbothered by that.

“I suppose she finds everything pointless if even your uncle sides against her,” he says.

"She should just stop worrying so much and date David," she said, nodding sagely.

“Is that what your uncle says?”

It sounded like such a bizarre household. But he had no room to judge after his horrible upbringing by mad scientists.

"No. But she likes him. And he keeps asking her out. But she's boring and goes to work all the time instead."
