Event: Mambo de Chocobo Mingle Post

It starts on what should have been another ordinary day.

“Wark?”

You may be at the hotel, shopping in a store, eating out at a restaurant, or anywhere else in Edge. A large bird is looking at you. Or walking around the building. Or trying to eat some food anywhere it sees some.

There are more such birds. They come in many different colors. And they are everywhere, getting into everything.

Soon ads go up around town about the wayward chocobos. They escaped from some trucks and the truckers will pay to get them back. Time to load up on greens, bring a friend or two, and try to bring them in!

He sighed and shook his head. Maybe he could reimburse Tifa for the chair.

“Does that happen a lot? Eating chairs, I mean.”

He was picturing the chair just being chewed on rather than literally eaten.

"No. Sometimes he's actually hungry."

“… He feasts on chairs because he’s hungry?”

He could imagine Zack making a termite joke about now.

"No, when he's really hungry, he needs something bigger. Or cake."

“… Cake would make more sense than furniture.”

"So you'll make sure we have lotsa cake in the room?"

“I will mention it to Tifa. But you’ll need more healthy things to eat as well.”

She considered. "So... carrot cake?"

Well, that's a compromise, he supposes.

"Perhaps. Do you like anything that isn't a dessert?"

She considered. "Pancakes with lotsa syrup."

Something fairly normal. That was a relief.

"I'll see that you have plenty of those as well," he said.

"YAY! And waffles with ice cream!"

"You put the ice cream directly on the waffles?" he said in surprise. That was a foreign-sounding meal to him. But maybe if it was chocolate waffles, or chocolate chip, it wasn't so odd....

"Yeah! It is super yummy!"

"It must need to be eaten fast if the waffles are hot," he mused.

"Nah, it is fun when the ice cream melts and soaks into the waffles."

"That sounds ... interesting." He honestly wasn't sure if he would find that kind of sogginess annoying or not. He had no real point of reference for it.

"It is yummy! We should get some now and try it!"

"If they serve it here, we can." The store had a small dining area with some tables and chairs.

One of the chocobos was standing at a table and called loudly, as if wanting to order.

"Oh! Should we catch that one?!" she asked, seeing it, excited.

"We should try, at least." Sephiroth approached it, holding out the greens. The chocobo tilted its head, warbled, and moved to eat some.

She slid away to try and circle around behind the chocobo, clearly planning to jump it when he had it distracted.

Sephiroth looked concerned as he realized, still afraid it might bolt.

"Careful," he said. "Be gentle."
