Event: Mambo de Chocobo Mingle Post

It starts on what should have been another ordinary day.

“Wark?”

You may be at the hotel, shopping in a store, eating out at a restaurant, or anywhere else in Edge. A large bird is looking at you. Or walking around the building. Or trying to eat some food anywhere it sees some.

There are more such birds. They come in many different colors. And they are everywhere, getting into everything.

Soon ads go up around town about the wayward chocobos. They escaped from some trucks and the truckers will pay to get them back. Time to load up on greens, bring a friend or two, and try to bring them in!

Lilo had decided to see how many of the Chocobos she could gather up on her own. She was going to get lots of cool photos of them. She was going to get more than Stitch! She just knew she was. She was...

Totally going to try to ride a Chocobo!

She got herself up onto a tall shelf of a store and was clearly about to launch herself at a Chocobo facing away from her. Someone.... might wanna stop the kid. Or, you know, grab a bag of popcorn off the shelf and enjoy the show...

Whoa! Sora jumped out of the way of one of the.... whatever that was! Some kind of demon?! He wasn't sure. He settled into a defensive stance, watching it, hand on the hilts of his daggers, eyes narrowed, smile gone.

"That's dangerous," a tall man said in concern. "Chocobos bolt if they're startled. And bolting in here could bring the whole store down on you."

He sounded and looked like Sephiroth. But he had no wings out and there was a sadness in his eyes that wasn't present in the other Sephiroth's eyes.

The brunet sounded and looked bored. He apparently wasn't bothered about the demon-thing.

He blinked in surprise. "No, my wings are fine.... Ah. You've met the other Sephiroth?"

"They're just big birds. They're not vicious. You can usually catch them with greens."

"Oh, okay." his stance relaxed and he gave a sheepish smile. "Guess I was overreacting then, huh? So... are they delicious?" If they are big birds that could be caught with greens...

Look, someone was used to not having much money and doing the best they could to make due.

He quirks an eyebrow at that. "Hardly. This is my world. The other one is the visitor, but he arrived through a portal along with all the other visitors."

Strange to be asked about a spaceship, though.... He's part-alien due to being injected with alien DNA.

"They're... horses? Wow, those are expensive. Whoever lost them must really want them back. We should help!"

She sighed heavily. "I still haven't found the portal making 'speriment."

"... Excuse me?"

A portal-making experiment. Heh. That would be him. His whole life had been a scientist's experiment. He had caused the portals to open, even though it hadn't been on purpose.

But this child wouldn't know any of that. What did she mean?

"Uh huh. Portals don't just happen, they gotta be happened by someone. So I gotta find who happened this one and get us all home. Then I can find his one true place. We thought we already found all the evil experiments, but I guess there is one more. Don't worry, Me an' Stitch'll find the 'speriment. We're experts at catching evil scientists' genetic experiments!"

"... Heh. Well. You've found the experiment. It's my fault you and everyone else ended up here. The only problem is, I didn't open the portals on purpose. It was an accident caused by a magic orb I had. Then the orb disappeared. I'm still looking for it to try to fix this. I don't know if the problem can be fixed without it."

She blinked a few times, then nodded sagely. "Let me guess, the orb got wet? That's what happens with the 'speriment pods. But you're one too? That makes you Ohana!" And if he does not move fast he will get a flying tackle hug as Lilo launches herself at him.

He ponders that. "I don't know.... I suppose water could have come in from one of the portals...."

He could move fast enough, but he's too stunned to do anything but stare in disbelieving shock. Someone would still embrace him, knowing he did this? A stranger would embrace him, even?

"I'm ... I'm what?" he stammers.

She hugged him, which mostly meant hanging from his neck given their size differences. "You're Ohana now. Ohana means family. And that means no one gets left behind or forgotten. I'll help you figure out where the orb is and what came out of it. Then we'll figure out how you can make portals again and then you can come home with me an Stitch until we fin your one true place!"

It'll be fun!

He finally, slowly hugs back. "Family," he repeats softly. "That is a beautiful concept."

He'd had a family, once. Or he'd thought he had. Angeal and Genesis had both left. But then Zack had been there.... Zack, who has deserved so much better than Sephiroth losing his mind.

"I've been looking everywhere for the orb. I don't know why it's gone. Maybe it even went through one of the portals and now is somewhere else."

He of course wouldn't want to impose on anyone by really going home with the little girl, but she is sweet and it is a soothing thought. He would love to have a family again, even if he doesn't deserve it.

"Well then we'll find it together!" she said with perfect confidence. "Though I'm not used to 'Speraments having their own names already, just numbers. But I'll forgive you for ice cream!" she said, happily. "Ice cream till we burst then we fin the orb and get everyone home. You'll have to sleep in the spaceship though. At least until we can sneak another bed inside. But it's okay, the spaceship is really nice now that it is a bed an not breakfast!"

He tilted his head. "The spaceship?"
