Event: Mambo de Chocobo Mingle Post

It starts on what should have been another ordinary day.

“Wark?”

You may be at the hotel, shopping in a store, eating out at a restaurant, or anywhere else in Edge. A large bird is looking at you. Or walking around the building. Or trying to eat some food anywhere it sees some.

There are more such birds. They come in many different colors. And they are everywhere, getting into everything.

Soon ads go up around town about the wayward chocobos. They escaped from some trucks and the truckers will pay to get them back. Time to load up on greens, bring a friend or two, and try to bring them in!

"They might," he said. "I'm not certain."

"Elvis?" she asked, hopefully.

"I ... am not familiar with that singer," he had to admit.

She stopped and stared at him. "You.... don't... know the KING?!" she shrieked.

He winced. "He is from your world, I assume? As far as I know, we haven't had contact with your world until now."

"No! There hasta be some in the library! Let's go look!" And if not, she'd sing every song if she had to!

"We'll look," he promised. "The library isn't far from here. We can walk."

Hopefully the store owner wouldn't be too upset that he was leaving the chocobos in here for now. Getting Lilo involved in something that wouldn't cause everything to topple over seemed an important goal too.

She nodded, having mostly forgotten about the chocobos as she began babbling at him all kinds of trivia about Elvis.

He was used to rapid-fire babbling and managed to keep up with what she was saying as they walked. While he still wasn't sure they would find anything of Elvis, he couldn't swear they wouldn't, either. Especially since he wasn't that up on any music other than classical.

The library was new, just like the other buildings in Edge, and modern, with three full levels. Surely something so large would indeed have music records.

"WHOA! I don't think I've ever seen a building that big that wasn't a hotel!"

"It is impressive," he said. "Let's go inside." He knew his way around all the book sections he liked. He wasn't sure of anything else, however.

"Okay! We gotta find records!"

"Yes...." He looked around awkwardly and then spotted the directory. "This should tell us." He went over and looked at it. "Music is on the second floor." He found the escalators.

"Whoa! Fancy!" she said, pleased. "I wonder if I can run down faster than it can go up!"

"I wouldn't recommend trying it in here," he said. "The librarians wouldn't like it."

"Don't you ever wanna do anything fun?"

[imjustaman]

"Heh. Apparently we have different ideas of fun," he remarked.

"What do you do for fun then? Work?" she made a face.

Sephiroth chuckled. "That's exactly what Zack said to me once."

"And whatcha say to him?"

Sephiroth paused, remembering back to that long-ago time.

"I was surprised he asked such a question," he said. "Work honestly wasn't usually that much fun for me. It was familiar, but not fun. The most fun for me has always been being with loved ones."

"But not all time with people you love is fun. Getting yelled at is no fun, even if it is your sister yelling at you," she said with a sage nod.

Sephiroth looked amused at that. "You're completely right," he said. "I didn't enjoy that from my friends either."

"So then what is fun for you?"

Re: LOL.

[imjustaman]

"On my own I enjoy reading. With others I like sparring. Or watching movies or going out to eat ... Whatever they might like to do."

He didn't even know much about fun things until his friends showed him. Growing up in the lab, he hadn't been allowed fun.
