Event: Mambo de Chocobo Mingle Post

It starts on what should have been another ordinary day.

“Wark?”

You may be at the hotel, shopping in a store, eating out at a restaurant, or anywhere else in Edge. A large bird is looking at you. Or walking around the building. Or trying to eat some food anywhere it sees some.

There are more such birds. They come in many different colors. And they are everywhere, getting into everything.

Soon ads go up around town about the wayward chocobos. They escaped from some trucks and the truckers will pay to get them back. Time to load up on greens, bring a friend or two, and try to bring them in!

And he paused, tilting his head a bit. "Did you ever ask your sister if you could try martial arts?"

Which was probably a very bad idea to suggest, but he was thinking that if Lilo wanted to fight so much, maybe it could be channeled into something like that.

He was amused, and perhaps it was better to leave things with that misunderstanding.

"Here's the music section," he said as they arrived.

Sephiroth didn't have much hope of that, but he moved to help look.

They may or may not have luck, depending on whether Elvis music would have caught on if introduced by the residents of Blau Town in the past.

To Sephiroth's visible surprise, there is Elvis! Several albums, in fact. He takes them all out and shows them. "Is this what you hoped to find?"

Sephiroth smiled at her enthusiasm. "Very well."

Good thing he had a library card, and that he had a CD player at home. He'd let her borrow it if there wasn't one she could use at the hotel.

He headed to the checkout desk

"Whoa," she said, "These are really small records!" She followed happily.

"They're called compact discs," he said. "You play them on a CD player."

"Nani" who couldn't afford CDs or DVDs "says that CDs are traps for little girls who don't eat all their spam...." She said, suddenly wary.

"I have never heard any such thing," Sephiroth said. "They're just a device to play music on."

... Hm. Maybe he's getting in over his head. He doesn't want to turn her against her sister, and the sister isn't here to ask what was meant.

"Perhaps she was joking?"

Sephiroth can't fathom what reason there would be to scare Lilo about something so harmless, unless it was a joke or ...

"Perhaps she honestly believed it?"

Maybe her family was wildly superstitious and afraid of more modern technology? He had met people like that.

She considered that. "I... guess that could be... are you saying you know more about monsters and stuff than Nani?" she asked, almost accusingly.

"Not necessarily," he said. "But we do have many monsters here that I doubt you have back home."

He looked worried at that. "The monsters here aren't friendly. They attack anyone who gets close."

"So did most of Stitch's cousins before we met them," she said, unconcerned.
