Event: Mambo de Chocobo Mingle Post

It starts on what should have been another ordinary day.

“Wark?”

You may be at the hotel, shopping in a store, eating out at a restaurant, or anywhere else in Edge. A large bird is looking at you. Or walking around the building. Or trying to eat some food anywhere it sees some.

There are more such birds. They come in many different colors. And they are everywhere, getting into everything.

Soon ads go up around town about the wayward chocobos. They escaped from some trucks and the truckers will pay to get them back. Time to load up on greens, bring a friend or two, and try to bring them in!

Sephiroth paused, remembering back to that long-ago time.

"I was surprised he asked such a question," he said. "Work honestly wasn't usually that much fun for me. It was familiar, but not fun. The most fun for me has always been being with loved ones."

"But not all time with people you love is fun. Getting yelled at is no fun, even if it is your sister yelling at you," she said with a sage nod.

Sephiroth looked amused at that. "You're completely right," he said. "I didn't enjoy that from my friends either."

"So then what is fun for you?"

"On my own I enjoy reading. With others I like sparring. Or watching movies or going out to eat ... Whatever they might like to do."

He didn't even know much about fun things until his friends showed him. Growing up in the lab, he hadn't been allowed fun.

"Reading?" she made a face. Boring! "Sparring? Like kill that one but spare the other?"

"No one is supposed to die in friendly sparring," Sephiroth said. But it had been more than friendly sparring to Genesis. Sephiroth just hadn't realized in time how seriously he had taken it.

"Then what is it?"

"It's just a practice fight to test one's skills," Sephiroth said. "The participants can see each other's flaws and help them improve."

"You have fun... fighting?!" She looked shocked. "When I do that I get in trouble and then Nani gets called and I hafta miss hula practice for a while for biting Myrtle."

Sephiroth smirked a bit. "If the fighting gets out of hand, the adults get in trouble too. Then it's not fun anymore."

"So how much fighting am I 'llowed to do?"

"That's a good question. Different people have different ideas on that," he said. "You should probably listen to your sister."

"She says none," she grumped.

"Then that's probably for the best," Sephiroth said.

"Why? You get to have fun with it!"

"In an environment that's controlled, and where both I and the other person agree to fight."

And he paused, tilting his head a bit. "Did you ever ask your sister if you could try martial arts?"

Which was probably a very bad idea to suggest, but he was thinking that if Lilo wanted to fight so much, maybe it could be channeled into something like that.

He was amused, and perhaps it was better to leave things with that misunderstanding.

"Here's the music section," he said as they arrived.

"YAY! Now to find Elvis!"

Sephiroth didn't have much hope of that, but he moved to help look.

They may or may not have luck, depending on whether Elvis music would have caught on if introduced by the residents of Blau Town in the past.

Your game, so... do they find Elvis?

"I hope we find all of the best ones!"

To Sephiroth's visible surprise, there is Elvis! Several albums, in fact. He takes them all out and shows them. "Is this what you hoped to find?"

Sephiroth smiled at her enthusiasm. "Very well."

Good thing he had a library card, and that he had a CD player at home. He'd let her borrow it if there wasn't one she could use at the hotel.

He headed to the checkout desk
