Event: Mambo de Chocobo Mingle Post

It starts on what should have been another ordinary day.

“Wark?”

You may be at the hotel, shopping in a store, eating out at a restaurant, or anywhere else in Edge. A large bird is looking at you. Or walking around the building. Or trying to eat some food anywhere it sees some.

There are more such birds. They come in many different colors. And they are everywhere, getting into everything.

Soon ads go up around town about the wayward chocobos. They escaped from some trucks and the truckers will pay to get them back. Time to load up on greens, bring a friend or two, and try to bring them in!

He was really starting to feel sorry for this Nani. "That must be frustrating for her."

"Usually she just screams then goes to work." She shrugged, unbothered by that.

“I suppose she finds everything pointless if even your uncle sides against her,” he says.

"She should just stop worrying so much and date David," she said, nodding sagely.

“Is that what your uncle says?”

It sounded like such a bizarre household. But he had no room to judge after his horrible upbringing by mad scientists.

"No. But she likes him. And he keeps asking her out. But she's boring and goes to work all the time instead."

“He is very patient.”

She considered. "Is patient a cinnamon for stupid?"

“… Cinnamon?”

He has had very little experience with children.

"Okay! We can get cinnamon rolls, if you really want. I won't tell on us if you don't." He fell into her fiendish plot!

She mispronounced on purpose? He would have to be more careful next time.

For now he folded his arms and gave her a stern look. “I don’t know that this store even sells them,” he said.

"Let's go ask!" she said, unbothered by his attempt to look stern. "C'mon!"

"Hm." He actually was annoyed, although more at himself for falling for that. But then he thought of something.

"Have you eaten anything today?"

Surely she had, but ...

"I couldn't find any cake so... don't think so. I think Stitch ate a chair though."

“… Was that at the hotel?” He cringes to think of that.

"Shouldn't it be?"

He sighed and shook his head. Maybe he could reimburse Tifa for the chair.

“Does that happen a lot? Eating chairs, I mean.”

He was picturing the chair just being chewed on rather than literally eaten.

"No. Sometimes he's actually hungry."

He could imagine Zack making a termite joke about now.

"No, when he's really hungry, he needs something bigger. Or cake."

"So you'll make sure we have lotsa cake in the room?"

“I will mention it to Tifa. But you’ll need more healthy things to eat as well.”

She considered. "So... carrot cake?"

Well, that's a compromise, he supposes.

"Perhaps. Do you like anything that isn't a dessert?"
